Laurel Park Neighborhood Council - Richmond, California

About Us

The Laurel Park Neighborhood Council is governed by an Executive Committee. The members of this Committee are the elected officers of the Neighborhood Council, President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Block Captains.

The Executive Committee successfully petitioned the City Council to: build the beautiful Richmond Swim Center facility, ban large trucks from Cutting Blvd., erect a safety/sound wall on both sides of Cutting Blvd. with landscaping, increase wattage of the street lights, beautify both parks in Laurel Park, resurface the streets, coordinate street sweeping dates with garbage pick up dates, install stop signs to reduce speeding in Laurel Park, install "No U Turn" sign on Cutting Blvd. at S. 49th street, erect the wrought iron fence on Cutting Blvd., and other improvements in Laurel Park.

The Executive Committee publishes a Newsletter that is hand delivered by the Committee members to each home in Laurel Park.  The Newsletter keeps residents informed about safety tips, health tips, pending legislation and other information to improve the quality of life of the residents.

Laurel Park Neighborhood Council sponsors an annual clean-up of the neighborhood with dumpsters located in each of the six Block Group Areas.  The Executive Committee members volunteer to supervise these six sites.  In addition, annually, the Committee sponsors "Blues in the Park" with live music and refreshments and the annual Casino Bus Trip to raise funds for the Scholarships that are given to High School graduates each year.
